The Website Speed Cure:

The Migration of SimpleNexus to a Performance Host

Intro

Migrating the SimpleNexus website to Pantheon, a performance hosting platform, yielded significant improvements in website speed and enabled a more streamlined development workflow

My Role

As the Website UX and visual designer I identified the need to migrate SimpleNexus’s website to a performant platform during their rebrand. This move ensured a smooth transition while addressing growing traffic from company expansion.

Key Advantages

In my research I foundPnatheon had some great advantages of WordPress, including:

  • Increased Site Performance: A faster site is good for all.
  • Agile Workflow: That means better efficieny, staging environments equalled less cowboy coding on the fly, and easy no-nonesense backups.
  • Scalability: Pantheon’s system is designed to handle more visitors to the website easily. It does this by automatically adding more “containers” (like little mini-computers) as needed, without any manual work required.
Key UI Updates

Color Palette:
While the primary brand colors remained consistent, we incorporated a range of tonal hues to soften the overall palette and create a more sophisticated aesthetic.

Next Steps
  • Development: We’ll begin development of the redesigned subdomain on a staging server, ensuring a smooth transition without impacting the live site.
  • Collaboration: I’ll work closely with the agency to implement the new design updates within the template. Consistent communication will be maintained with all stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Testing: A rigorous testing phase will be conducted before launch to guarantee a flawless user experience.
  • Post-Launch Optimization: Following the launch, I’ll continue to monitor key user metrics to evaluate the redesign’s effectiveness. Data-driven insights will be used to inform further improvements and ensure ongoing user satisfaction.
